No trails, tundra or meadows allow dogs. Leashed dogs are welcome in campgrounds, picnic areas, parking lots and along roads.

Where dogs can go

  • Along established roads and in parking areas.
  • Established campgrounds and picnic areas.
  • Leash no longer than 6 feet, at all times.

Off limits for dogs

  • All trails, tundra, and meadows.
  • Park visitor centers.

Camping with your dog: Leashed pets are allowed in established campgrounds.

Good to know, from the park

  • Pets can overheat and die in cars, even on mild mountain days. Cracked windows do little.
  • Coyotes, mountain lions, bobcats, and owls in the park could prey on pets.
  • Do not tie pets to vehicles, trees, or other objects.
  • Pet rule violations can lead to a citation, fine, or a required court appearance.
