No trails allow dogs here. Leashed dogs can go anywhere a car can, plus developed campgrounds and picnic areas.

Where dogs can go

  • Anywhere a car can go: roads, road shoulders, campgrounds, picnic areas, and parking lots.
  • Developed campgrounds, turnouts, and picnic areas.
  • In boats on Jackson Lake only.
  • In winter (November 1 to April 30), the designated pet walking lane on the closed part of Teton Park Road.
  • Leash no longer than 6 feet, at all times.

Off limits for dogs

  • All park trails and the backcountry.
  • The park's multi-use pathway.
  • Public buildings and swimming beaches.
  • Swimming in any park waters.
  • More than 30 feet from a road.

Camping with your dog: Pets may stay with you in developed campgrounds.

Good to know, from the park

  • Wildlife may be drawn to pets. Pets can wander off and may never be found.
  • When walking on roads, your dog must yield to traffic.
  • Do not leave pets alone or tied to an object.
  • Pets running loose may be impounded at the owner's cost.
