One of the easiest yes-answers in the park system. Dogs are welcome on every trail, the boardwalk and the campgrounds.

  • Leash no longer than 6 feet, at all times.

  • Leaving your dog unattended, for any length of time

Camping with your dog: Pets are allowed in the campgrounds.

Good to know, from the park

  • Summers are hot and humid. Bring enough water for everyone, dog included.
  • You may see snakes in spring. Keep your dog close.
  • Check yourself and your dog for ticks before you leave.
  • Waste bags are available outside the visitor center.
