Leashed dogs can walk the Rim Rock Trail, the North Rim Chasm View Nature Trail and the paths to the overlooks. Other trails and the inner canyon are off limits.
Where dogs can go
- Picnic areas, campgrounds, and parking lots.
- Paths to overlooks.
- Roads currently open to vehicles.
- The Rim Rock Trail and the North Rim Chasm View Nature Trail.
- Leash no longer than 6 feet, at all times.
Off limits for dogs
- All other hiking trails.
- Inner canyon routes and the wilderness.
- Snowshoe and cross-country ski trails.
Camping with your dog: Leashed pets are allowed in campgrounds.
Good to know, from the park
- Bag pet waste and throw it away right away. Do not leave bags on the trail for later.
- Pets can overheat in vehicles, even with windows cracked. Someone should stay with them.
- You can be fined if your pet disturbs wildlife or other visitors.
- There are no kennels in the park. Boarding is in Montrose, Olathe, and Gunnison.
